Why Is the Giraffe So Rare in Adopt Me?
The Giraffe is a Legendary rarity pet, the highest tier in Adopt Me's classification system. But what makes the Giraffe genuinely rare in 2026 goes well beyond its Legendary status. Three factors drive its scarcity in the current trading market:
The Safari Egg is permanently retired. The Giraffe was introduced on July 5, 2019 as part of the Safari Egg, which cost 750 Bucks in-game. The Safari Egg was retired on December 12, 2019 and replaced by the Aussie Egg. Since retirement, no new Safari Eggs have been sold in the shop, which means no new Giraffes have entered the ecosystem through hatching. Every Giraffe in circulation today came from a Safari Egg hatched between July and December 2019.
Legendary hatch rate. Even during the Safari Egg's active window, the Giraffe was one of only two Legendary pets available from it (alongside the Snow Leopard), and Legendary hatch rates in Adopt Me eggs sit around 3%. Players who wanted a Giraffe often had to buy dozens of Safari Eggs before hatching one, which meant even during the egg's availability, Giraffes were far from common.
Neon and Mega Neon multiplication. Creating a Neon Giraffe requires combining four fully-grown Regular Giraffes in the Neon Cave. Mega Neon requires four fully-grown Neons, which means 16 original Giraffes in total. That's 16 Legendary pets from a 3% hatch rate egg that hasn't existed in the shop for over six years. Mega Neon Giraffes are extremely scarce in the current market because very few players managed to acquire enough Safari Egg Giraffes to complete two full Neon combinations before the egg was retired.
Combined, these factors make the Giraffe one of the more valuable retired Legendaries in Adopt Me, particularly in its Neon Fly Ride (NFR) and Mega Neon Fly Ride (MFR) variants. There is no current in-game method to obtain a Giraffe, which leaves trading and marketplace purchases as the only two realistic paths.
