What Owl Variants Can You Buy?
The Owl exists in multiple forms depending on potions applied and Neon Cave upgrades. Most listings on the marketplace fall into these variants:
Regular Owl: the base form, no potions applied. The entry-level tier and a good starting point for players who mostly want the Owl for looks.
Fly, Ride, and Fly Ride (FR): Regular Owls with Fly Potions, Ride Potions, or both applied. Fly Ride is the most common trade tier for standard Owls since it combines both mobility perks.
Neon Owl: created by combining four fully-grown Regular Owls in the Neon Cave. Has glowing accents on the eyes, chest, and wings, and trades at a serious premium over Regular versions. Neon Fly Ride (NFR) is the most popular variant at this level.
Mega Neon Owl: created by combining four fully-grown Neon Owls (16 original Owls total). Cycles through rainbow colors on its glowing spots. Mega Neon Fly Ride (MFR) is the endgame variant and one of the most valuable single Farm Egg pets you can own.
What Makes the Owl a Rare Adopt Me Pet?
The Owl is classified as a Legendary rarity pet, the highest tier in Adopt Me's classification system. Beyond that, three specific factors drive its scarcity in the 2026 trading market:
The Farm Egg is permanently retired. The Owl was introduced on October 10, 2019 as part of the Farm Egg, which cost 750 Bucks in-game. The Farm Egg was retired on April 16, 2020 and replaced by the Aussie Egg. Since retirement, no new Farm Eggs have been sold in the shop, which means no new Owls have entered the ecosystem through hatching.
Legendary hatch rate. Even during the Farm Egg's active window, the Owl was one of only two Legendary pets available from it (alongside the Cow), and Legendary hatch rates sit around 3%. Players who wanted an Owl often had to buy dozens of Farm Eggs before hatching one.
Neon and Mega Neon multiplication. Creating a Neon Owl requires four fully-grown Regular Owls in the Neon Cave. Mega Neon requires four fully-grown Neons, meaning 16 original Owls total. That's 16 Legendary pets from a 3% hatch rate egg that hasn't existed in the shop for over five years. Very few players managed to complete two full Neon combinations before retirement.
Combined, these factors make the Owl one of the more valuable retired Legendaries in Adopt Me, especially in NFR and MFR forms. Trading and marketplace purchases are the only realistic paths to obtaining one today.
